Dear Valued Customers,
I have completed another set of HO Scale farm silos. These may become scarce, because I am having a hard time finding the correct PVC fitting to create them.
I love the way the flat white tops contrast with the glossy blue, and the flag which graces each top. I could spend a lot more time and money adding conveyors, ladders, safety cages and other details, and I could weather them too. However, that would just about triple the cost to you.
My customers tell me they prefer to pick up these Harvestore Brand "Blue Tombstones" at low cost, and add the details themselves.
In the 1940's, these glass lined, air tight silos were a symbol of prestige throughout the Midwest. Then, they began to exhibit failures, especially in the conveyor systems. This, coupled with farm failures in subsequent decades, led to the familiar glossy blue silos symbolizing something else; A farm in financial trouble, facing foreclosure. This is how they got there current nickname.
